Support staff is vital to the successful operation of any institution and that is why being sensitive to this need the school organized a programme this Friday Sep 29, 2017, conducted by school counsellor Ms. Renu Bhatia to inculcate professional work ethics in transport team and support staff. The sensitization workshop highlighted the need for positive behavior, emphasizing the significance of accountability and ownership which are the glue that ties commitment to the result in the organization. The other issues which were discussed at length were – will power, need for introspection, responsibilities and ownership, punctuality, usage of language and dress code. It discussed moving away from unhelpful thinking patterns, encourage positive thoughts, self- esteem, assertive communication and problem solving. They were also told that children’s safety and security should be their top priority.
The powerful session left everyone elated and was followed by a Vipassana session by Dr. Sethi who taught the participants how through Anapana Sati technique one can achieve real peace of mind and lead a happy, useful life.
In the words of a few, “It was a spiritual experience”. It is pertinent to say that this was a very insightful and meaningful workshop, given the mixed nature of the audience. Chairman, Dr. Rakesh Khullar stressed upon more of such workshops would help in understanding the need of accountability and ownership for their professional and personal development.
