DLF Public School has always believed in learning outside the classroom and what best way is there to do so than connecting the students with nature! The school organized a 6 day ‘Snow Monks Camp Trail’ trek near Salli Village, in Dharmashala, Himachal Pradesh in association with Holiday Moods.
Summers 2017 brought splash of relief, rejuvenation and learning beyond classroom for Delfites of classes XI and XII — who explored the magnificent natural marvels of Salli Village; a hamlet built around numerous hills, in Dharamshala from May 28th to June 2nd 2017. A whole lot of adventure and learning followed this excursion that cruised through the snow-covered hills and the green forests. Delfites trekked through the beautiful green forests of Handi, catching sights of beautiful and rare birds, trees, rocks and rivers, sights that you never see in the urban cities. The Khauli River valley view was a spectacular and an impressive view which included variety of birds, wildlife, forest and wildflowers and the opportunity to view the many snow-capped peaks. The journey descended at Macleodganj through beautiful circular route to the snow zones of Rehla.
Delfites acquired skills of leadership, self-reliance and team work and learnt at every phase of the excursion; right from managing themselves, taking leads in different activities, to being effective team players. Climbing, Valley Crossing and River Crossing were the most enjoyed activities among all. Delfites also relished the many inside camp activities and bonded stronger with the nature. They would cherish the experience throughout their lives!
