The farewell is always a time when mixed emotion prevails, there is the nostalgia of old memories and aspirations and hopes for new beginning. It is a moment when students begin to take charge of their own life’s boat.
“Shubhakanksha- A bouquet of blessings” was a warm welcome that the DLF family bid to the outgoing 2016-2017 batch. “Every ending has a new beginning…” was the theme of the event. The day started with a special ‘Havan’ to invoke the blessings of the Almighty. It was a morning of mixed emotions for all present at the school auditorium to witness the official send off for the class XII students at the valedictory ceremony 2016-17.
The students of class XI organized a beautiful farewell for their seniors. The programme began with a spiritual dance- ‘The Ganesh Vandana’. Next there was a transformation dance which showed different stages of life at DLF -the transformation from ‘I don’t want to go to school’ to ‘I don’t want to leave the school’ (Mujhe School Nahi Jana to Mujhe School Se Nahi Jana). The main attraction of the event was a Musical Play which was admired by everyone.
Executive Director Dr. Mrignaini congratulated and wished the students luck for their future endeavours. She said that it is a day of mixed feelings for her. She is sad as the children are leaving but is also happy as they are on the verge of a new beginning. She guided each of the student to care for humanity, mother Earth & serve the nation.
Principle Seema Jerath stressed that Humanity is what we need to follow. She stressed that ‘The person one is going to become while achieving one’s goal is much more important than the goal itself’. She also stated that ‘Each one of us should remember that we have been born to use ourselves and be useful’. She motivated all the students to get their thinking right & replace all “Buts” with “So” as but is “Negation” whereas so is a symbol of “Progression”. She also shared a short and inspirational story to motivate everyone to help everyone.
Each Student of class XII was made to feel unique by the teacher’s citations to each of them. The teachers also spoke about their experiences with the outgoing batch.
Class XII students presented wonderful dance as well as a band and enthralled the audience.
In an emotion charged event, all shared their fond reminiscences about the days spent together in the school. There were numerous thanksgiving speeches from the outgoing batch and their parents.
The farewell was culminated with a wonderful video and a vote of thanks to class XI followed by lunch for students & parents.
