Your child’s body is developing at a rapid rate, and it might often seem difficult to speak with him or her about adolescent development. Understanding this inhibition which every mother face the school organised a session every year to help prepare the young adolescent girls to handle the physical and psychological changes of adolescence in a better way. A very interactive session for enhancing the bonding of mothers and daughters of Grade 6 to address the common problem of communication regarding these sensitive issues was organised this September. The session aimed at discussing the problems faced by a girl while stepping into the age of maturity.
Due to poor sanitation, impure water and lack of personal hygiene, girls and women are particularly vulnerable to infections and diseases. The program was designed to teach them about their health and hygiene related problems emphasizing on preventive measures.Ms Anuradha from Procter & Gamble Limited conducted a fun-filled, interactive and awareness session on adolescent health and hygiene for mothers and daughters. The one-hour session aimed at helping mothers and daughters understand the physical and emotional changes of growing up.
Dr Monica Aggarwal , a gynaecologist also briefed the attendees about the importance of making life style changes so as to avoid diseases like Poly cystic ovary syndrome. She also briefed them about the importance of taking the vaccine for cervical cancer.
