India is known as a land of festival and celebration and ‘Dussehra’ is one of them which is unique in its perception and significance. Delfites of Grade IV to VII celebrated Dussehra and Gandhi Jayanti by participating in a special assembly on Sept 26, 2017. A Cultural and a thoughtful programme was held in the school premises. The students performed dance and a skit through which they portrayed that how we humans have divided God on the basis of our own perceptions. The skit brought out a beautiful message of peace and harmony. The message ‘Be at Peace, not in Pieces’ was loud and clear. A special activity ‘Halt the Fault‘ was organised for classes IV to XII. Each class collaboratively discussed a class trait they wanted to give away and filled a collective class response. Class VII A, XI A and X E were the winners of the activity as they decided to collectively shun away ‘Non-Cohesiveness‘, ‘Procrastination‘ and ‘Rejecting Constructive Criticism‘ as a class trait. Each of the winning classes will earn two class Smileys each. A prize distribution ceremony was also organised to give away the prizes of various activities. Class VII F was declared as the ‘Class on the Top‘ . Principal Seema Jerath while addressing the Delfites urged everyone to become the change agent and let the Ram in them win over the Ravan. She stressed that each one of us must love others and bring happiness. Each one present was urged to take an oath to give a new dimension to their lives and maintain peace & harmony.
