Continuing the 8th Round of Indo-Russian Wheel of Friendship under the AFS Intercultural Exchange Program, a delegation of 10 students along with 2 teachers from DLF Public School went on an educational trip to Russia in May 2018.
Over a period of two weeks, students were able to completely immerse themselves in experiences of Russian education, culture and society. Teachers and students attended classes of Primary, Math, Russian Language, History and others at different schools around Cheboksary and Klin. Best practices with respect to teaching methodologies in India were also shared by the DLF Public School representatives.
‘Witnessing the Victory Day Parade, the biggest parade in Moscow’s Red Square showcasing Russia’s military forces, having Indian food at the Darbar restaurant, playing a Russian game with a random group of Russian children and spending time in bunkers which are 60m underground were some of the most exciting experiences we will never forget’, exclaimed enthusiastic students Prisha and Antara Ghatak.
Teachers Duhita Parmar and Susmita Das, while narrating their stories said, ‘Our host families went out of their way to make sure we feel at home. Living together on this exchange trip helped bring home one enriching realisation: that though separated geographically, we are so similar as human beings and even culturally connected in surprising ways!’
