The two year long water conservation campaign of DLF Public School moved a step forward with over 150 students of Classes IV and V joining hands with the RWA, Shalimar Garden to spread awareness in the neighbourhood about the growing need of water conservation and cleanliness around.
The rally that was flagged off by Parshad Mr. Pappu Pahlwan, Mr. Sanjeev Sharma, Representative of Minister of State for External Affairs and Mr. Pawan Reddy, Vice President-RWA, Shalimar Garden took off from Ekta Park, the park that had been once beautified by the students of the school.
To bring the issue into the community’s collective conscience and to lead it to a mass movement, the school students performed a skit on water conservation that became the highlight of the event as it was able to create ripples among the audience, who appreciated the initiative and displayed willingness to co-operate. Later, the students also distributed leaflets to reinforce the message.
Addressing the gathering, the guests at the event suggested that there is a dire need for such mass movements that can improve the environment and aim at the betterment of the society.
Executive Director Dr. Mrignaini said that the school has always tried to pioneer initiatives that lend themselves to better the world around through their numerous Student Social Responsibility endeavours.
Shalimar Garden RWA appreciated the efforts of the children and gave them a special award for being the change makers.
