A delegation of 10 students with 3 teachers from DLF Public School went on a learning trip to Russia from October 1-18, 2016. TheDelfites were well received by the City Mayor and the Education Minister at the City Council in the Klin district, Moscow. During the 18-day visit the Delfites gave a cultural performance and a presentation at different schools around Cheboksary and Klin which was covered by the local Russian News Channel.
Continuing the 5th Round of Indo-Russian Wheel of Friendship under the AFS Intercultural Exchange Program, Delfites who hosted their Russian buddies earlier this year in March got an opportunity to visit Russia. The tour was perfectly scheduled to include experiences of Russian education, culture and society. Teachers and students attended Primary, Math, Russian Language History and other classes while they shared their best practices with respect to teaching methodologies in India and Russia. The group was actively engaged throughout the stay as they went on a Minivan Excursion, took a trip to Shorshley, Novocheboksark and Yoshkar-ola and an excursion to the Museum of Space and Cosmonautics around the Cheboksary region. They also went for a day trip to St. Peterhof, a two-day trip to Moscow and a stay at Klin where they took a peek at the Tchaikovsky State House-Museum. The beautiful landscapes and the scenic regions complement the beauty of the people of Russia. The hospitality shown by teachers, students and the host families of Russia made the Delfites feel like a part and parcel of their own kin. The Delfites came back with an enriched experience of living and learning in a culture that was different yet similar to ours in ways more than one! DLF Public School will soon be welcoming another group of Russian students and teachers in March 2017 while moving towards its goal of creating global citizens.
