Delfites Dazzle the World at the International Folkdance Festival Ismailia, Egypt!

Once again Delfites made India proud by promoting Indian Culture across the Globe when a Group of DLF Students and Teachers teamed up to participate in the Ismailia International Festival of Folk Art in Egypt organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Culture of the Arab Republic of Egypt from September 3- September 10, 2016. The team was selected as the sole team from India consisting of Delfites Hritali Mukherjee, Ipsa Bandyopadhyay, Anurima Dutta Biswas, and ex-Delfites Soumi Chakraborty, Gauri Kaushik and Shubhanshi Bhardwaj accompanied by their teachers and mentors, Ms. Patrali Mukherjee, Ms. Gargee Dutta Biswas and Ms. Sudipa Bandyopadhyay under the aegis of Charu Castle Foundation.

The festival have been attended by 12 countries from across the globe like Hungary, Tunisia, Iraq,Jordan, Maldives, Algeria, Ghana, Egypt, Indonesia etc. to name a few. The performance of the Indian team was much appreciated and applauded by the global audience and they were awarded Trophy with Certificates of Merit by Admiral Yassin Taher, Governor of Ismailia, Egypt. The performances for the festival were choreographed by Smt. Patrali Mukherjee and the Team was led by Shri Pawan Kapoor, General Secretary of the Charu Castle Foundation. The team also visited the historic cities of Cairo to have glimpses of the Pyramids, the Sphinx, the mummies, the Nile River and also visited the man-made marvel of the Suez Canal. The festival, in addition to an international exposure in a cultural immersion festival, gave the Delfites and the visiting teachers an experience of a lifetime while they enriched their knowledge about some of the most intriguing places of the world!

Between the participating nations, they learnt much about the culture and folk dances of each other. The festival encouraged friendship and bonding amongst participating countries bringing peace and harmony to the world. The team imbibed the Egyptian values, ethics, cultural strengths, scientific bases and glimpses of their heritage and committed themselves to spread the same for the betterment of other Delfites and citizens of the Nation.
