DLF Public School….The School with a soul insists that our students contribute towards a higher and greater good: the public interest. The “Green Ghaziabad – Clean Ghaziabad Anti Polythene Campaign” initiated by Ghaziabad Mayor, Sh. Ashu Verma was one opportunity that echoed the ethos of what DLF Public School stands for. It aims at bettering the lives of other people and creating persons of significance who actualize not only as individuals but also as citizens.
The Anti Polythene Campaign was executed by DLF Public School at three different locations: B- Block Market around Chandrashekhar Park, Shalimar Garden Extn.2; Ekta Park, A Block, Shalimar Garden Extn.2; & Sector 2, Rajinder Nagar, Shb, Gzb. till Ram Manohar Lohia Park.
Delfites began this Anti – Polythene Drive from their home while coming to school. They enthusiastically took out a rally which was flagged off by the School Exec. Dir. Dr. Mrignaini and Principal Ms. Seema Jerath. Students wore gloves and masks and shouted Slogans like “Don’t be Drastic, Say ‘NO’ to Plastic”! and many more. They collected discarded polythene from roadside, from areas around school, outside Ram Manohar Lohia Park, Ekta Park, B-Block Market and also from within the school premises. Along the way, they sensitized shopkeepers, vendors, residents from neighbourhood about the hazards of using Polythene. The children were accompanied by Environmentalist Smt. Raj Rani, school teachers and staff from Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam. The Garbage Bags containing about 100 kgs of garbage were handed over to representatives from Nagar Nigam, Gzb.
This drive doesn’t end here today. It will continue till we make our city a ‘Polythene Free City’. We hope to make it a way of life for our DLF Family and inspire our Ghaziabad City to emulate the same.
