A tinkering session was conducted for Delfites of Classes IX-XI on Oct 6, 2017 at the school ATL Lab.Students were introduced to electronic components such as LEDs , beepers, sensors, resistors and capacitors etc. They were explained these components with the practical circuits. Delfites explored multiple circuits with basic components like resistor, capacitor and switches to understand series and parallel circuits in a better way.
The circuits inside pieces of electronic equipment are like a city, they’re packed with components (similar to buildings) that do different jobs and the components are linked together by cables or printed metal connections (similar to streets). Unlike in a city, where virtually every building is unique and even two identical homes or office blocks may be subtly different, electronic circuits are built up from small number of standard components like resistor, transistor, diode etc.Students were also exposed to micro controllers by their mentors. The aim was to make them understand how various tiny electronic devices can work with the help of these micro controllers which are actually controlling the entire operation of these devices.
