Some Special Programs for Parents
Parents Conferred with the Feel Proud cards for the Good Work Done by their Children
Every year, Parents are invited to a special Feel Proud card Conferral ceremony where the child and his parents, jointly receive from the school the Feel Proud cards as a reward to the acts of goodness done by the student.
Book Boom- A Mother Managed Programme
The Mothers of students of all classes were invited to run and manage the entire programme. The mothers browsed the books along with the students and imbibed in them the desire to read books. Also, they shared with children the quick tips to select good books. The objective was to partner parents in the functioning of school programmes as well as capitalise on the fact that children will be more free and comfortable in the presence of their Mothers. It was a great success.
Coffee with CCE – An Interface between School and Parents
The initiative begun last year was so well accepted and welcomed by the parents that the school has made it a yearly affair. With so many new progressive reforms being introduced by CBSE; this short, warm session makes sure that school and parents understand the new reforms by CBSE and those parents are encouraged to volunteer for the Parent Advocates for CCE programme by CBSE. The objective was to create an interface between the school and the parents. Parents are informed regarding academic changes being introduced by CBSE under CCE and the changes introduced by the school.
Parents Invited to Join the Video-Conferences with Students
Parents are invited to be part of discussion forums through Video Conferences. Parents and Grandparents of our students recently joined two sessions- UN Day for Older Persons and Co-Existence with Pakistan.
Celebration of Catch-a-Smile Day! – Parents do Online Voting for the catch-a-Smile Day Inter-House Photography Competition
There was also a unique Inter-House Photography Competition ‘Catch-a Smile’ where Delfites were found to be catching smiles of the grandparents. The Best Smiling Picture was chosen through an online voting by parents on the school website.
Brunch with Delfites Session for Parents- Children Served Self Cooked Brunch ( Learnt in the School) to their Parents
Parents were invited to Delfites of Gourmet Club served a platter of exotic dishes like “Virgin Mojito, Hungry Caterpillar, Mocktails, Salads”… which many of their parents had tasted for the first time as they invited their parents to a foodie session- Brunch with Delfites. It was a treat to the five senses of the parents who indulged their taste-buds in this culinary fete. Parents were swept off the carpet and remarked “Thanks to the royal hospitality showered.”
Parents Invited to Join Chinamaya Mission’s National Movement- Transforming Indians to Transform India
During One Nation Reading Together Programme on November 30; many a Delfites and teachers read the book. Also, the parents were invited to take part in the Family Quiz based upon the book and drive this national movement more significantly. Parents proactively accepted school’s invitation to join this global movement of instilling values in children ad as a result, 1,300 Delfite Families Registered for this family Quiz!

Show-n-Tell A Home School Partnership Project
Show-n-Tell is essentially a Home School Partnership project where parents and children think together of something new to share with the class once a week. Parents prepare the children with anything special to them; it can be a piece of poem, a new song leant at home, a new book that the parents have gifted, a new toy, children’s favorite game and numerous such things or acts.
Parent Orientation Programmes for New Parents
In order to enable parents to view education in the same perspective as does the school so that together they would be able to offer the child a secure environment towards his holistic development, new parents are oriented with the school’s educational philosophy and its expectations from them. The objective behind is to ensure a smooth ongoing process of learning with maximum parental involvement.

Parent Volunteers Share School Responsibility Parents support the school through various classroom supplementary activities like-

Mobilizing Parents’ Support – Parent Sponsored Annual Awards
Parents sponsor annual awards for the deserving students honouring them in various domains. Parents’ Sponsored Cycles on School Annual Day: The school also receives the sponsored T.I. CYCLES that are awarded to the students on the School Annual Day. Every year up to 8 cycles are sponsored by a parent on the School Annual Day and are awarded to: Winners of Online Quizzes, Winner of A Question A Day programme and other awards.
Parents as Bus-Mothers
The ever supportive parents of students volunteer to take responsibility of bus routes on weekly basis, thus proving to be the valuable and responsible stakeholders of the school. The volunteers take turns and ensure that all the commuters are picked and dropped properly and timely. This scheme has been designed to keep the warmth of mother-child relationship alive during School too. We believe little children feel more protected in their initial schooling days if they are accompanied by their mothers.
Workshops Conducted “BY” Parents
Parents too, conduct resourceful workshops for school children on several occasions. The school believes in harnessing their expertise in diverse fields to give practical exposure to students in various domains. Parents are invited to conduct workshops in the school.

Some parents who are placed at resourceful positions and are equipped to deliver support to the school, extend their assistance whenever required. They help the school in organizing educational visits, campaigns and various workshops in the school campus.

Parents having expertise in various subject fields are also placed on the school interview panel. Their knowledge and expertise helps school during interview sessions.
Career Counseling Lectures by Parents
Parents of the corporate world working in various domains conduct career counseling sessions for the senior children. This helps the school close knowledge gaps that students have over various career choices available. Parents are able to guide in a straight forth manner acquainting students with the real life demands and challenges of the corporate world.
Parents invited as Guests and Judges to School Functions and Competitions
The school doesn’t miss to make parents a part of school celebrations. Parents are invited as special guests in various school functions. They are also invited as special judges to various school competitions. Parents also participate in online voting as a part of collective judgment towards online competitions.

DLPS believes that a child is the sum total of his environment, at school, at home. We see homes as key pillars in harnessing positive energies towards the holistic progress of the child. Special value addition sessions on – Creating a Synergized Home Environment are yearly conducted in the school for parents so that they can effectively provide a positive home environment to their child.
Workshops for Parents
The school conducts various workshops exclusively for the parents to help them understand school plans. They were invited to an awareness session on the implementation of the scheme of Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) in classes VI-X. Likewise, they are continuously looped into knowing about various school programmes so that their complete support towards the same could be harnessed.

Not only do parents act as judges for school competitions, they become active part of various competitions organized exclusively for them like- Essay Writing Competition, Cookery Competition, Photography Competition and so.
