$ 5000 for Global Entrepreneurial Excellence
Ms. Lindsey Crouch from “Teach a man to Fish”, London, U.K. Visited DLPS on March 20, to assess the working and nitty gritty related to the production and marketing of this globally acknowledged Entrepreneurship Project.
Students of DLPS added yet another global achievement to their archives as they competed with the best in the world and won the School Enterprise Challenge 2012, receiving a cash prize of$5000. DLPS received the highest honor among all other teams from countries like Armenia,Peru, Nigeria, Tanzania and Zambia.
The project, titled as ‘DLPS Craft Hut’ was undertaken by class XI commerce students, providing them hands on experience as young entrepreneurs. The team created handicrafts that were environment friendly and economically viable. As volunteers of ‘paperless society’, students advertised through e-mails, text messages and social media and garnered a presence of 1000+ at the formal launch of the enterprise. This award is testimony to the school’s effort to create21st century citizens, providing them a platform for real life application of class room learning. This exposure has not only helped students get a taste of the real business world but also in developing their vocational skills and learning the virtues of team work, honesty and hard work.
