Delfites Receive the Top India Prize at the CSIR Innovation Award Ceremony

September 26, 2013, the CSIR Foundation Day, became memorable for Delfites Yash Bansal, Vatsal Sharma and Srishti Jain, Class XII, as they received the TOP India Prize of Rs. 50000 at the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) Innovation Award for school children 2012. They were awarded by Shri S. Jaypal Reddy, the Union Minister of Science and Technology and Earth Science’s.

They won the national award for their pioneering project of creating ADIA-COOL (Air Conditioner) organized at CSIR-IGIB. The CSIR, which is dedicated to serving the nation through scientific industrial Research & Development, holds this award to create awareness, interest and motivation for intellectual character among school students. The air conditioner created by Delfites is low cost and environment friendly and is based on adiabatic expansion as gases cool on expansion.

The awardees quote that the genesis of the project took place at their school’s Science Month which is held in July every year to inculcate effective thinking skills in the students and provides a platform to students for breakthrough research work in science and technology, motivating them to make an important contribution to the developing India. The students took their innovative projects to new heights of recognition by receiving this national accolade out of entries from across India. DLPS family stands proud of these student researchers!
