400 Delfites Take their Grandparents on a World Tour at DLPS
Around 400 Delfite grandparents enjoyed the Virtual World Tour and experienced the culture of various countries from across the world at Virtual World Tour 2013 organized by DLPS. The representatives from the Embassy of China and France visited the tour. Knowing more from the country ambassadors itself became a lifetime experience for the Delfites.
Grandparents boarded the DLPS Cruiser for the journey of a lifetime. Once on board, they collected their Passport to sail to different lands not forgetting to have their passport stamped. All along the tour, whether it was Japan, China or Italy, Scotland or France, South Africa or Germany, they saw historical monuments, famous people, currency, dance forms and classical music and forgot that they are still in India. They learnt everything there was to know about the country from the student ambassadors.
Senior students of DLPS celebrated Delfites’ bond with their grandparents by capturing and immortalizing the special moments under the Annual Inter-House ‘Catch-a-Moment’ competition. Grandparents even relished different cuisines from around the world in the DLPS Foodies prepared by Delfites and remembered this extraordinary trip with Souvenirs made by their grandchildren and artefacts on sale by the DLPS Craft Hut.
All this was in store for Grandparents of students of Pre-Nursery to 8th Standard on the special event of Virtual World Tour today, on 26th October, with the idea to bridge the inter-generational gap and inculcate wisdom from the elderly.
